Chapter 5

Nate

I don’t know that I’ve ever moved this fast in my life. I’m usually a perfectionist, especially at work. That’s how I get away with charging more than other landscape companies, but still have more work than I can handle. I’ve been considering adding another team and a few part-time workers for people who want to add on things we don’t typically do.

I have my hands full trying to keep up with the business I have. I can already see that Vannah’s a hard worker. She hasn’t once complained except to say that she doesn’t need the easy, shaded jobs. Her skin is a lot paler than mine and I want to keep it that way, at least until I get to see her naked.

I look over at her again. She’s raking up leaves and seedpods, gathering them and piling them on the tarp. Every time I look at her, Rubio laughs. That tells me I’m not half as inconspicuous as I thought I was.

He’s been teasing me that I didn’t even last a day. It’s hard to believe this is the first day Vannah’s been working for me. It feels like she’s been teasing me a lifetime with her braless tits. Makes me wonder if she’s wearing panties.

I refuse to ask her that question. If she told me she was running around commando, I wouldn’t have been able to resist tugging those little shorts aside and fucking her right there in the back seat of my truck.

I refuse to take her virginity in the back seat of the car. It’s just too cliché when I have a big house with more than one bed and about a million other surfaces that will offer a lot more room than the back seat.

I try to remind myself of all these things as we drive back to my house. Vannah has herself spread in front of the air conditioner. Little wisps of hair float around her face and her nipples are tight and stiff again. Only ten more minutes and then we’ll be home where Rubio can pick up his car and hopefully leave as soon as we unload my truck.

I sigh when I pull into my driveway. I have a corner lot with lots of land. I built a second, detached garage that I use for my work truck and all the equipment for all three teams. Since our last job of the day was cancelled, we’ve beat the other teams back. I lower the ramp as Rubio starts unstrapping the mower.

Within five minutes, we have the truck bed empty and everything is where it belongs. Rubio and his wife work opposite shifts. She’s a nurse and who works graveyards. That’s why he likes working early mornings. His wife works ten to six, so while his kids are at school, she sleeps and he works. Then they have the evenings together.

As soon as Rubio pulls away, I have Vannah’s hand in mind. We head across the lawn to my house, but we don’t even make it that far.
